Cat 3 hook up

Those never made good connection, took me a while to figure out why. Much obliged for the assistance! Napsterbater MVM May I don't see the point of those. Before someone points it out, replacing the cat3 cable is not an option. Ended up with a handful of RJ ends once that didn't have the filled-space between the edge of the connector and pins 1 and 8.

The phone wires the rest of the house phone wires are Cat5e The smaller telephone male ends should just plug and lock into the larger Ethernet female plugs.
If not, do I need some intermediary connection before emtering the SMC? Napsterbater MVM May 8: Napsterbater to kevinds MVM May 7: The Cat3 wire has 6 strands.
